Hello Bruno,

I just spoke with Rod Larson. He is our top Seismic System Engineer and
one of the developers of the digital controller. He is available to
come to your site in late July. He will correspond with you directly
about arrangements etc.

Thanks, Dave

Hello Bruno,

1- I will schedule a test engineer to come up and perform the necessary
tests. I'll get back to you on availability.
2- All parts listed on the foundation drawings are usually supplied by
the construction vendor. It is generally more efficient for him to get
these materials than us. I believe this is called out in the
construction drawings. MTS will help verify the correct installation of
the actuator bearing plate.

I will be gone to Japan next week but should have good E-mail
communication.

Regards, Dave

Hello Dave,

As you are probably aware, I am coordinating all activities related to
the
construction of the new lab as Robert Tremblay is in Italy. So far I
have
mainly interacted with Randy Strop and Steve Carlsen. Time has come now
to
look at the relocation of the shake table. I have some issues to discuss

with you.

First of all, based on the construction schedule,

- we can use the shake table until about mid-July.
- the pump has to be disconnected and moved from its room by July 28

So as indicated in the quotation, MTS is planning come to Poly for
carrying
out some tests on the existing installation prior to disassembly and is
also in charge of disconnecting all hydraulics and electronics between
the
pump and the table, as well as the sump pump, etc. Can this be done
during
the last two weeks of July?

Second, according to your specifications, 48 tie-rods (items 9, 10, 11,
15
on drawing 100-111-276 sheet 5 of 7) and one bearing plate for the
horizontal actuator (item 2, drawing 6) need to be installed at the
construction phase.

- is MTS supplying these elements ?
- is MTS installing he horizontal actuator plate?

There might be other points but at this moment these are the main issues
I
have in mind,

Regards,

Bruno
